As the president of the Glenwood Center for Regional Food and Farming and founder of Plato's, a national network of women changemakers, Finlay has made significant strides in promoting regional food systems and empowering historically marginalized communities. With her extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and network building, Finlay is dedicated to fostering innovation and resilience in food and farming.

Previously, Kathleen directed Harvard’s Center for Health and the Global Environment, where she developed programs linking human health and the global environment. She has received the Rachel Carson Award for Women in Conservation from the National Audubon Society, was a Visiting Scholar at the American Academy of Rome, and serves on various Boards and Advisory committees, including those for Senator Gillibrand, NY Commissioner of Agriculture Richard Ball, Oxfam, and Planet Women.

Kathleen provided the foreword for the book *Kuni: A Japanese Vision and Practice for Urban-Rural Reconnection*. She holds a degree in Biology from UC Santa Cruz and a Master of Science in Science Journalism from Boston University.
